Welcome Parents & Students!
Thank you for visiting Mrs. Banks' English webpage. Visit often (bookmark this page if you are accessing it from your home computer) to get the latest news and information on what is happening in my various classes. Every time you visit this page you should go through all of the menu options. Especially check the information for your class period or your child's class period, marking period dates and the handouts section. Pay attention to the announcements and follow the directions if any. I have one on one tutoring Monday - Friday 7th period in Rm. 285. I am available for tutoring 10th period Monday- Thursday in Rm. 285. You are not required to stay the full time. However, please note English 3 students are required to meet with me twice a marking period to discuss their term project. If you have any questions  please don't hesitate to contact me! I am looking forward to working with you this year!

You all have choices to make in life. Those choices have consequences: good and bad. Make sure you can deal with both if necessary.

Announcements
PRESENTATION DATES- ALL CLASSES

Presentation dates were given out in class on 12/22/08. They will not be posted on the webpage. If you were absent hopefully a friend wrote down the date for you. If not a suggestion would be to come to class each day dressed and prepared to present. PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME FOR YOUR PRESENTATION DATE BECAUSE I WILL NOT GIVE THEM OUT AGAIN.

UPDATE ON EXTRA-CREDIT POLICY

Due to the large amount of students trying to take advantage of my extra-credit policy please note the changes made to it on the Extra-Credit/Late Work page.

Posted by Mrs. Banks on Saturday, December 20, 2008

EXTRA-CREDIT

1) The library is hosting a reading challenge. Students who participate in the reading challenge will receive extra-credit.

2) Students who have not received a check plus on the homework assignment where you had to write a five paragraph essay on how literary elements are used in works of literature can complete it again.

3) Using the words on the top bulletin in the back of the classroom create a story. (English 3 students do not use words that are from the English 3 vocabulary list.)
